After being asked several times about these strings and threads some of my models have - here you go with a short tutorial.

Material:
-Toothpicks
- Colour you want (here: Tamyia Clear Red for bloody strings, green for slimy)
- UHU, "Flinke Flasche" with the black letters (there is a green version too, but that one won't work), a german glue, the one with the flamable warning on it - still i am not sure if this works with any other glue (so please do some experiments and let me know!)
How to?
Now i put the colour i want on my wet Palette, adding some of the glue, wait about 1 Minute for the glue to get more elastic and then bringing it on the place where it should be in the end with the toothpick.
If you only use UHU alone you may get clear strings or things.
Please be sure that this is a real chaotic thing, you can't plan this totally. Just have the bravery to do some experiments - in the end every experiment is worth a try...

I tried this with the same glue, and with Kryolan fake blood (the darker version).
I think it's good for more massive strings and bigger slimy ones, and after you mixed the blood and the glue you can use it instantly because it dries faster.
And I guess the glue is just a plain UHU universal glue, the fany "flinke flasche" name stands for the special bottle. I haven't worked out yet which glue is used in it (if my theory is correct at all).

Thanks for a great tip :) I dread to think how long it took you to do the strings on your stuff, it took me ages to get one in the right place. very frustrating
After doing a little online research on different glues I am assuming that the UHU "Flinke Flasche" is the German version of UHU "Twist & Glue"? Really interested in trying this technique out and would like to maybe get some conformation before buying it online? Also have a pic of the glue.. same bottle and everything so i can only assume.

Sorry for my late answer... that seems to be the right bottle, but the wrong colour. The same bottle with flamable stuff inside, should have a black colour instead of green... hope this still helps...

are these strings suitable for gaming models? Like, if i were to make these strings, would they break easily if i played with my models?
I would prefer not to do them on gaming models as they are easily breaking. Maybe on some places where your fingers won't hit the model...

I love this but sometimes when it dryes, the strings break. is there any way to make them more sturdy?

Wilko All Purpose clear extra strong seems to do the job. Only £1!
