Duel in the mountains
After some months without any new projects from me on Massive Voodoo, I want to start to show you my last projects.
The duel exist of a beautiful female warrior and a creature of the mountains. I invested a lot of time in the details, like the positions of the figures, an interesting base and a good contrast between the figures. I wanted to capture the scene when the girls starts running to the creature and the creature is not really scared. The rabbits feel more connected to the creature and look surprised in the direction of the girl.
Now I am interested what you think? you think the blue skin is to bright?
Octopus
You probably heard about the bad news from JMD Miniatures, they willl close their store soon.
I really liked their stuff especially the cool busts. Here is one older miniature from me, I finally made good pictures of the Octopus bust, it is still one of my favourites.
Thanks for answers or votes :)
Best regards Oli
Octopus is pretty nice!!!
For the goat man, actually it's too bright...In my point of vue, it's a nature's offspring so it might be in natural/ herbal shades, even if it stays blue..A greenish blue, in fact....
Scene in itself is gorgeous!! Little girl is so awesome in itself (and very well painted here!!) I'm fan of your natural productions so realistic!!!

I think the blue is just fine from an artistic point of view, it enlivens the whole scene with a nice contrast, that's not hurtful on the eyes. That said I think a more natural brownish or greenish colour would be more logical on such a forrest creature. The blue is a bold choice of colour, I like it and wouldn't change it. The whole scene also has a nice harmonic colour sceme- very beautiful! Nice Octopus too :-)
Thanks for your nice comments, I am glad you like my diorama and my basing work. And I think you are right, a more greenish or brownish would have look more realistic to the scene. On one of my last project some people said the figure and base colour were to equal. And that the figures get lost on the scene. So I think, it is always a hard decision in the colour choice. Too much contrast, too bright colours, or the same colours and the figure get lost in the scene, very complicated.. :D

The whole scene is tonally even I reckon, you could say that the creature is like a chameleon and his skin tone changes with the situation, his wariness may make his skin flash this beautiful blue to indicate his nervousness :) Wicked work, thanks
