He follows the paths, the paths of time and destiny,
sending out his decay to the universe, bringing decay to the untouched,
his duty is to spread the gift of Papa Nurgle, moving slowly but systematic...

Hi.

Another Brother of Decay... i really like those because i can make them look like what i believe of Nurgle. For me the most important thing is that the viewer can smell the decay. That is the first step. when you inhale the odor Nurgle is gonna get you... muahaha!

Basic model was a forgeworld Nurgle torso with different conversions on it. Used several parts from normal Space Marine Chapters, a lance of bretonian knights and ... hell i have no idea, i also used crackle medium to the maximum... don't know why, it did wish for it and i wanted to test it. Hope you like him!

Another finished piece is called Jungle Warfare I.
I did plan to do something big out of all the experience, wisdom and feelings i get lately by reading a lot of Vietnam War books to inform myself more around these happenings back in the past. The big project is too big for my actual plans and the work i got to do and as i don't want to have a heavy mind while painting i simply canceled it and will do some small "Nam-Pieces" when the Muse is right.

The base was build up with cork and dried earth and some gypsum parts mainly. The jungle plants are from Fredericus Rex Green Line nature sets. This was my first try with them and they come on thin hard paper, laser cut and are really cool to work with.

This model is a Christmas gift to my RwW, Vittorio from Italy, because he is one of the greatest and most patient persons who i do know until today.

Now it gets to some serious Work in Progress talk i already did start yesterday. I am in the mood for painting these days and am wildly rocking and torturing the brushes. New things and old things - I want to free my workbench from older stuff and things i still got to work on, but all hand in hand with the muse and not with pressure and without her. You always have to be gentle to the muse, pressure and force brings only bad temper. So i did clean up my place really hard the last couple of days, preparing everything for the relaunch out of the daily soap called life - pure painting celebration for the next days after everything is shiny again. Therefore i also will throw out some projects, more to this later on... here are things that are on my mind these days or i find myself dancing in front of the WIP-section of my cabinet, thinking and dancing... then it is painting again... Work in Progress in totally weird changes of being just started or being soon finished - hope you enjoy...

So far for the moment - Painting is in Progress. If you like what you see or dislike i would be looking forward to your comments. If you got some questions please let me know via comment, i'll keep them answered. A good song to keep the painting spirits alive will now loose this posting up a bit and brings you motivation, i hope - i only can speak for Raffa and me - even when we already sleep and this sound arrives in our ears we still paint for hours...

I guess i've posted this video around 20 times now in the jungle, haha... keep on... trrrr trrrr ttrrrr ... not me... trrrdddddwwwooooooommmmm, trrrddddwwwwoooooommmmm...

As i told you i did clear up my place and i did find two cool big bases but also the wisdom to let them past beyond future plans - if anyone is intrested in buying those build up bases please contact me via jarhead---at---massivevoodoo---dot---com. Big bases go go...

Also i did fill up the other Jungle Surprise box with more material. It soon is full :)

So far - i guess i have mentioned everything i was thinking of while writing... now it's time to get back at the brush :)

Keep on happy painting!
Best Regards
Roman

PS:@Ben: Thanks for activating me again - your hydra is so stunning... it really strikes my brain and i want to paint again... many, many thanks, bro'!

WIP and Kong Fu...

Sometimes i have moments that become days where all my muse and motivation seems so far away. Those days come and sometimes they become weeks. I am thankful to everyone who is patient with me and my energys and my way of connecting with the Muse. I am used to these moments now, but it took hard training, sure I say that i don't like them when they are there, but in the end i always know that there is a path out of this dark valley of nothing... walking into the light and further in the skies to kiss the muse and get wings...

Walking out of this Valley always gives me a look on project i got to finish, comissions I still work on and - thanks again to all your patience out there - can do it when the time is ready. But when is the time ready? I don't know it and I don't want to become this thought a heavy thought. So many thanks to all of you to be patient with me and accept my delay. There will be the day. Those days in bright light doing what you exactly are waiting for... I am just getting older and slower i guess. Not the crazy one day/one miniature jarhead-guy, slowly becoming patient and more connected with the muse when she strikes ... no heavy thoughts in my mind... just doing happy painting! A view in the future... the past is soon rolled up :)

Keep on happy painting!

Aloa.

After our great weekend in Austria we are slowly regaining energy - in these days back in Graz there have been for sure some colours on miniatures and now slowly everything comes to an end. Check out Raffa's cool stuff he did and his WIPs he just posted!

I did also finish something the last days, but first i want to show you some miniatures that i now can call my own and add them to my private collection - Mati and Andi did both paint a miniature for me. Mati's model has been a hell of a surprise as he did her during my class and the model with Andi has been a planned miniature exchange.

Mati's Daemonette

Captain Asshole

Not to forget little Hans Kraut in 15 mm painted by Raffa, which he gave to me as a gift. This is a Flames of War Miniature, really small but the scene is epic. This is Hans Kraut, who tries to flee from the barracks because he is tired of the stupid war. Right in this moment while he silently sneaks away the Light Beamer from a Tower hits his person... epic sad moment with Hans Kraut, many thanks, Raffa!

Robert also did paint up a Demonette during the class - pretty nice for one weekend, don't you think? This model will be the next model you can win when we reach our 500th Blog describtion...

Robert's Demonette
28 mm, Games Workshop

I did also finish one model i have used to show some techniques about painting at the last class in Graz. He is some imperial Soldier which is really angry about some Beastman pillaging his village...

28 mm, Games Workshop

I also did this comission piece of a converted Skaven Warlord, who is a bit more evil and sneaky then the last one i did.

Skaven Warlord
28 mm, Games Workshop

Both pieces of me are painted in a strictly set time frame by my own, so this is what i am able to do in about 10~15 hours each. I am not really happy with some parts but perfection for sure needs more time and i wasn't able to pump some more in these 2 projects. Hope you like them whatever i blabla here...

Here is a little preview on a base/model i am working at the moment...

The base is mostly build up from cork, with some common earth on it and several gypsum parts. Hope you like it so far...

Keep on happy painting and stay inside the jungle - the outside is cold :)

The Kiss of the Muse

by Raffa

Posted by Raffa, Picster, Capuchin,...

Heeeeeeeeeeeeey everyone!

Finally the painting muse kissed me again... for weeks i was in a valley of painting demotivation....
Yesterday i had a push of motivation and started painting again and it was soooo much fun, color went where i wanted it and miniatures morphed into images from my head.

Here's a song i really really like when painting :)

Ok, now some pictures!
First is a mini i painted for a friend, it's a pretty fast paintjob (around 3 hours) but i think he will be very happy when he receives the mini :)
On the weekend in Graz i finished two miniatures... one was Rose from Hasslefree (my favorite mini :) )

Hate
The other mini was ... guess what... a deamonette :D
I converted her a little bit with hands from the Mantic Games Ghouls, acupuncture needles and watch parts.....

Queen of the Clockwork Desert

And finally, two work in progress minis....

Captain America 2.0

Nurgle Marine

I hope you like the stuff! :)

Cheers,
Raffa
