Hey ho jungle traveler,

another summ up of the latest Kong's WIP thoughts ... arriving straight from the workbench.

This time with not so much brand new and fresh news as we did not spent much time in the studio last week. On Friday night I managed to bring my fantasy gang growing in numbers. Finished two of them, a stealthy crossbow dwarf and a female amazon huntress with a spear ... There is still much work to do - mostly on the base and the other 7 figures that are still left. Mainly it is the base that scares me the most as it needs a lot more detail brush work.

It feels really good to bring one figure after the other to the base, always brings back massive motivation to see the group grow. I am preparing this diorama for a german online contest and hopefully will make it in time. Right now it looks good but the future weeks are filled with a lot of events, classes, two comissions and finally recieving a lot of Artbooks to sent. Might get busy but I try not to get distracted when it comes to push this forward. The next ones who will be add are already in progress ...

Aloa jungle travellers,

this time it is something different. I lately told you about Carl, a nice guy from Great Britian who will visit us on Monday, February the 18th. He was one of the many supporters of our book campaign and did choose the perk "private practice with Raffa and me". He will arrive soon and we will have a little report about that.

Carl is at least as excited as we are and he wrote down some thoughts, shortly before.

"Hey, my name is Carl,
I live in Nottingham in the United Kingdom and just like you I paint miniatures. I have followed the Massive Voodoo blog since it started and I owe many of the good things I have painted (which aren't many in my opinion!) and my desire to learn more about miniature painting to the tutorials on the blog. It has been a constant source of inspiration for a long time and when I saw the indiegogo campaign I knew I had to pledge. 

On indiegogo I noticed that I could visit the jungle to paint with Roman and Raffa and the more I thought about it the more I thought how cool that would be! I discussed the possibility of me coming to the jungle with my girlfriend, who said I should go, emailed Roman who was really helpful and pledged... Then my mind began to work overtime! What would they think of my painted models? Would they be able to help me improve? 

Fortunately, I have been in constant communication with Roman who has put my worrying at ease and reassured me about the whole visit. I'm a bit if a worrier, and I am my own worst critic but I'm sure that my time in the jungle will be just what I need to get better!
I'm both a little scared and massively excited. I'll let you all know how it goes :)

Ladies and Gentleman,

the first BANANALICIOUS PAINTING CONTEST is over now!!!

We recieved so so many entries and want to thank everyone who participated in the contest for their contribution. All confirmation mails are out now. I am still waiting for two pending photo problems I am solving right now with two of the participants and after this the easy part for us is done.

Yesterday at the studio I already prepared and boxed all prizes of the random prize pool - took me about 4 hours but it is done and they are waiting for the lucky winners.

Right now I am writing on a chart with all names and entries for our judging work and to get the random prize pool rolling in soon. During this I'll make the final count of the number of entries before I tell it to you. It is much and I want to say the right number.

What to expect the next days?

- You will get to know how many entries are in the contest soon, the exact number.

- During the middle of the upcoming week there will be a big gallery on facebook (public) of all entries. We will show all display photos there (if display category), not every single photo as we take them for judging. I hope you understand that as the gallery would be way too big with 150+ entries, most of them with 6~7 photos or more ...

- During the next two to three weeks the random prize pool will be gambled and winners will be announced. Via random.org and my chart. I am still waiting for two parcels to arrive. One with the two demons by Wonderlands Project and one with some Red Box Games Miniatures, so there will be one or two positions to win for you.

- During the next two to three weeks Raffa and I will do the judging work on most of the categories, Raffa and Mati will do the judging work on the Sculpting category. After this we present you the winners of the contest.

- After this all parcels will be sent.

I hope you understand that finishing this contest takes a while as we recieved so many entries and still got other projects on the table, for example the Artbook - you might have noticed that it is in its final state after you recieved the confirmation mail last week ... soon the printed books will arrive at our HQ ...
