time for another review on a two day private coaching.
This time Ruggero visited me to learn from me in his chosen topic/subject ...
It really feels good being able to teach again, even though I miss the large group weekend seminars.
I hope I can start this very soon without any strange vibes COVID-19 leaves for the organisational parts ... News about coachings and workshops are available here.
Ruggero & me (Covid-19 memories) |
You can follow Ruggero's painters journey on Instagram:

My student Ruggero approached me with a
list of many things he wanted to learn: learn to paint OSL, skintone,
lessons about volumes and textures. I decided to offer him two different
paths to choose from:
- Doing all the single lessons in depth and he would know about and understand each point on his list...
- Learning to plan, construct and paint atmopshere, so he can include
everything, like Skintone, leather, metallics, fabrics, chocolate,
underwear, space marine armour in different color, toilet paper, flowers
and more into the frame of an atmospheric vision and learns to paint it
all. So we did that thing and added extras like OSL lessons, texture
lessons, skintone, color theory, technical approach planning a project
and execution into this frame.
It has been intense
and since Ruggero only started painting last November to bring color to
his boardgame miniatures this was truely machine gun fire of new
learning content for him. And he stood his ground, capable to understand
it all and push himself as far as he could. Doing a big leap on his
personal painter journey.
I am such a proud teacher and want to thank Ruggero for travelling from Berlin to Augsburg and the good times spent.
This is what Ruggero said about his coaching experience:
"I booked an individual coaching with Roman because I admire many of his works and wanted to learn how he approaches painting a miniature. Which point of view he has when it comes to color choice, texture, OSL and atmosphere.
He challenged me a lot during these two days. Theory units, practical exercises and first application of what I learned on the model. He followed a concept that gradually revealed itself to me. He is didactically excellent and picked me up where I stood with my skills. And that is where I am no longer standing, but where I am further than before. It's a big step. Every project starts with color, and if you think you already know a lot about color and light, you should first book a course with Roman and see if your assessment was correct.
Apart from all the knowledge he imparts, Roman is a perfect host. He is attentive, caring and helpful, even when it is not about painting. He is a walking encyclopedia of art. But what impressed me most is that he also reveals his secret tricks. Tricks that you won’t find on YouTube, because Roman keeps them for his students. Go there. He has a studio full of small worlds, and it’s worth diving into each of them."

Ruggero's result of the two day coaching ...
I want to thank you again, Ruggero for your will to learn from me and your support in my art, passion and teachings.
Keep on happy painting!
Yours,
Roman
