Silverback

Guess what?

I will always love Gorillas.
Since a long time this seems to be my spirit animal. Well, my zodiac the lion too, so imagine a gorilla mixed with a lion if you want and can. Whatever. I passed some months without any joy in paint, colors and was not even able to enjoy music. Kind of burned out from working my butt off in 2017. Somehow sad weeks, on the other hand also time to recharge creative powers. Slowly I crawl out of a small dark valley, some scars left in place for sure, but what would we be without our scars?

Painted like a painting on canvas as the bust just is my canvas.
With serious brushstrokes that speak my signature and soul.

"Silverback"
Scale: 1/8. For Sale.
Tomek Radziewicz (sculptor)

This bust is for sale.
If you want to make it yours, feel invited to check my PDF cataloge.

I got a lot of work ahead of me with the brush, but before I continue with this I had to paint and relax with this cool bust by Tomek Radziewicz. The sculpt is really cool and Tomek has some different ones in stock, contact him!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Keep on happy painting!

  1. Hey dude, long-time reader, first-time commenter. Love the blog, you guys are amazingly creative, fun, and a massive source of inspiration.

Hate to hear about the burn-out, been getting that vibe from a lot of your recent posts. It's a very real and nasty thing. Taken me a few years to get out of a hole myself, but finaly realising I've turned a corner. Stay strong brother ape, it gets better :-)

  2. Hey Ian, thanks for your nice words. We are happy to inspire here in the jungle. Yes, burnout symptoms are a serious thing. Just in the middle of learning how to deal with them ... Will stay strong!

  3. I feel you with the burn out. I have been struggling too. I have found solace in trying new mediums and styles lately. Take your time to find your muse and try new things. I would love to see some of your canvas paintings or any other mediums or styles you are exploring. I think we all would :)

  4. Hey friend, don't take a burnout too lightly, it can be a serious thing, forcing people to quit their jobs or even ending up in hospital for months.
So please take care of yourself, do sports (ride your bike), go into nature!, get a good, relaxing massage...whatever is food for your soul and body. Even chocolate helps! Just know that there are people out there whom you can always contact ;) Wolf

P.s.: that silverback looks amazing! It's a powerful totem animal. If you feel you can't walk further, he will carry you.
