1:72 - Mounted Samurai

Hoi!

Again it is me with a Zvezda 1:72 model.
This time a mounted Samurai during autumn.

The shiny armour looks a bit too shiny on the photos, but I can tell you it is shiny as the Samurais used to polish their armour plates to maximum. At least that is what I was told ...

Hope you like him! If you want to ... Putty&Paint! I have no idea when this 1:72 mania will stop at my table :D

Keep on happy painting!

Best Wishes
Roman

  1. I really love all your 1:72minis. Fantastic job on such small miniatures! Will you bring some 1:72 stuff to Monte san savino? It would be great to have a chance to look at them for real.

  3. Great work once more mate.. though I think you can move on from 1/72 scale, and move into a 1/100 or 1/125 scale maybe? :) See how the details and such hold up at that level.. will see if I can find something at that scale that might interest you :D

  4. Hi Roman, this is beautiful. I am really inspired by your recent 1/72 forays and will try my hand on one of them myself. I have two questions, though:

    1. how do you pin the little buggers to the base? Especially for single standings figures, their legs are so thin that I am afraid of putting even a needle into their feet...

    2. would you think about making a little tutorial - or give us a short how-to in the comment section - on painting one of these minis? I would really like to learn how you approach this.

    Thanks and best, D.

    @Denniz
    Good to see you in Monte! :)

    @Michel
    You can find the adress very low on this page in the impressum, but don't tell anyone. Or write me a quick email and I get back to you asap ... Sorry, sooooo busy at the moment!

    @M R Lee
    Not yet ... I ... I guess I ... I need a break from that scale and get back to normal again :)

    @David
    Thank you! Sure ...

    1. No pinning, just glueing.

    2. I am planning to write a tutorial about my recent 1:72 experiences. It will take me a little longer as expected but be sure there will be some in the future!

    @Ender
    I can just say, painting will never end ... can't promise the same scaled canvas all the time!
