Into the Fray!

Posted by Raffaele "Picster" Picca

Hey ho dear readers!

Another figure done! And not any figure... it has been quite some time since I painted one and the same figure two or more times. But with this figure, one of my own releases of Forged Monkey, this is the second time I painted it and two more times are in progress/planned....

One more Chosen will be painted in red and one more will be painted in .... I honestly don't know right now! :)

But anyway, as it's a very fun sculpt to paint it's not a big deal!

Here's the second version that was painted to show all the different head and gear options that come with this sculpt.

Into the Fray!

Hope you like this version! You can see the first version in this post.
And while were are already here... a small sneak peak to the next version that I'm painting right now:

Have a nice day!
Raffa

  1. Hi Raffa, I love the skin tones of your chosen, very realistic and the metallics are also wounderfull. The sculpt is also very nice, although I have to say I am struggling a bit with the way he grips the axe. I just wonder why he grips it near the axe head and not further down the hilt, which would be the normal way to use and grab an axe, if you get my meaning.

  2. Hey Grim,

thanks for the comment. A axe is not always held the same way, it depends on what you are doing with it. If you want to slash with the axe you normally hold it all the way down the hilt to get the maximum impact. If you are just holding the axe to "transport" or show off, there is no reason holding it further down the hilt compared to holding it closer to the axe blade (better balance and easier holding it).

He is not slashing or in any "action" move, so this did feel much more natural to me ;)
