Storyline goes on with the decisions made in your stories.
Three people, will gain a badge for their help and their inspiring comment, - we are using their ideas to bring the story further. Take a sheet of paper, note your badge if you got one (we do the same) - in the end the one with most of the badges will be the winner. Don't hesitate to comment, we still got badges for 15 days to give away. The promoted ladies and gentleman for this row are:
Finality, for the best Step 1, finding some food.
Alba, for the best upgrading of offensive and defense abilities in Step 2.
Mati, for getting out of the tunnel systems via the hidden ladder in step 3.
The Story goes on ____________________________________________________
"Wruce!" You curse silently to yourself. "You can go and get yourself killed if you want, but don't leave me stuck in here like so much canned bacon... so hungry."
Looking around you can see that the room is a relatively bare concrete affair, with ceiling tiles and fluorescents like a cheap office block above my head.
But it's time to keep cool and think about what you are doing. Take three steps to overcome an obstacle, any obstacle in my path.
OK, STEP 1 is to take stock of your surroundings. The details of the room are apparent, but we'll have to see what is in the crates. So, taking care to leave the structural integrity of the crates intact, you dig out a sculpting tool from my paint bag and start to search the crates.
The first crate is full of Metro tickets ready for the ticket machines... one or two of these will fit in the bag nicely without taking up much space (and who knows what they could be used for) The second crate has some cleaning supplies; a spray can of solvent, some clean rags, a package of toilet paper, some antiseptic wipes (bit too late for that!) and a toilet brush... so you grab the can, a roll of toilet paper and the brush... who knows what it could be used for. One of the crates ... jackpot! It's the supplies needed to refill the vending machines: supplies at last!
STEP 2: Upgrade offensive capacity. You search the room looking for anything. There's a broom, some other cleaning products, a toolbox full of...well...tools. One of the crates is full of... and you almost cry now... lost property. And Oh my, people looses so many things when travelling by underground. There are laptops, wallets, knives, lots of student's notes, a bike helmet, a surfboard, some diving gear (fins and a mask, wohoo), flashing bike lights, phones (all out of battery, sob), an USB cable, some random keys... You take a screw-driver and duct-tape from the toolbox, the USB charger, the broom and fit the helmet to my head. It's a bit loose to be honest...

Armour (NEW!):
1x bike helmet
You are well equipped you think to yourself but you lose some moving agility by all that stuff you are carrying, damn it! No big running with all that stuff!
STEP 3: Time to go. You check the room a bit more and hidden in a deep corner there seem to be metal rods in the wall that are meant for climbing up, like a ladder. Wohooo! This is your way out you think. You try not to think about what you just witnessed and pack your gear. The station on the monitor is one station before Eduardos place, a walk there would take about 15 minutes without zombies. Who knows how long it would take you if you would have to make combinations of sneakiness and running? Who knows if you get through? Anyway you try to call Eduardo on the cell but here underground there is no good reception anyway so you can't give it a real try before you are outside. You climb up the rods and have a really hard time opening the cover. Now you know they are heavy as f**k. -.- That took a lot of effort but you managed to get it open in the end without making too much noise. I check my surroundings and ...
NOW it is your turn again: Link up an athmospheric photo of where you are right now? Must not be yours - you can google for it. Describe in one sentence what you feel or do now?
Keep on happy googling!

ReplyDeleteResigned to the fact that nothing worthwhile is ever easy, I brush together my broken hopes, knuckle down and start walking in the direction I hope leads to Eduardo.
I just feel lonely

ReplyDeleteI am still confused, shocked, tired and scared but happy to be outside and at a place that is a bit more familiar than the tunnels.

My actual answer...
Time had gone by more quickly than I'd thought, and getting to Eduardo's in the dark was an even less enticing prospect than it was before, especially when I heard the shuffling behind me...
