Everybody except the MV-Crew can enter the contest.

To enter you have to be a follower of the blog here in the jungle via google account or be a follower on our  facebook jungle. Your finished entries have to be sent via mail to us. This is an online contest, photos of your entries will be judged.

3.2 "Display" and "single pieces"
_________________________________________________________________________________

3.2.1 Display?
You can only enter with a set of Figures, a display, at least 3 single pieces. Maximum 5.

Standard or Master?
This is completly up to you. The judges might move entries on their own decision.
If you enter, for example Fantasy Standard, you are not allowed to enter Historical Master.
If you choose Standard or Master, this decision is automaticly the same in the other display category!

A display consists of:

An example on how a photo of a display looks like:

You are allowed to enter in your display:
(depending on the categories for sure)
- single Figures in every Scale
- Busts in every Scale
- Monsters in every Scale
- mounted Figures in every Scale
- no dioramas, vehicles, duels
Try to bring in a good mixture
of your own favourite pieces
and show us a variety
of your skills and imagination.

There has to be one project that is completly new to the world and that you did for this contest. You can do more new pieces if you prefer. You are allowed to show Work in Progress photos your projects in a forum or on your blog or wherever you like during your work and the final piece after you recieved the confirmation mail. That means you have to paint one new piece and the rest can be the best from your projects from the past.

How we need your photos:
1 overall photo of your display where we can see all figures (like example above) + 2 photos of every figure, done from the angles that you like most. We ask you for single photos, no collages or weird cutted puzzles, just straight photos of your figures. Single Photos not bigger than 1000x800 pixels, please! Don't make them too small as this contest judges photos and we can only judge what we see.

_________________________________________________________________________________

3.2.2 Single Piece?
You can only enter with a single piece. No displays here - only 1 project

A single piece looks like this:

Single pieces always have to be new projects, completly new to the world and has not yet been seen finished before in the internet. You are allowed to show Work in Progress photos your projects in a forum or on your blog or wherever you like during your work and the final piece after you recieved the confirmation mail. That means you have to paint one new piece for the categories marked with "single piece".

How we need your photos:
3 photos of your single piece are needed, done from the angles that you like most. We ask you for single photos, no collages or weird cutted puzzles, just straight photos of your figures. Single Photos not bigger than 1000x800 pixels, please! Don't make them too small as this contest judges photos and we can only judge what we see.

3.4 "Single piece" categories - what to enter?
Another important subject. There are three categories that ask "single pieces" of you:

Diorama
In Diorama you can enter Dioramas, Duels and Vehicles. Those big and epic projects.
3 or more photos, like described at the single pieces. You are allowed to show Work in Progress photos your projects in a forum or on your blog or wherever you like during your work and the final piece after you recieved the confirmation mail.

Sculpting
In Sculpting you have to enter a sculpt of yours. A project that is sculpted by you. Not converted, we mean sculpted. Your entry can be a painted version, but we need a photo of the finished sculpt without paint. 3 photos all in all, like described at the single pieces.
You are allowed to show Work in Progress photos your projects in a forum or on your blog or wherever you like during your work and the final piece after you recieved the confirmation mail.

Special Category "Banana!"
You can enter a diorama, a single figure, a duel, a story, a novel, a tale, a vehicle, you can sculpt and do whatever you imagine for this special category. The only rule is that it will be bananalicious in the end. Judging
The Jury consists of Roman and Raffa.
Very important for us is that you try to bring in good photos. Figures on bad photos can't be judged properly. We are judging the following points when looking at your entries:

- First Impression
- Athmosphere of the single piece/display
- Painting technique
- Basing

During the judging work we allow ourselves to move entries in other categories. We don't plan to do this often, but if some entry seems in the wrong category for us and is having unfair influance on other entries in the category we'll do. I propose you just have some trust in us in this case. We both are a good team when it comes to judging and won't harm anyone. We just want the Contest to be a fair one.

  2. ill try to take part :D and hopefully everyone will do the right category! (i hate it when there is a under 16's category and people who are like 40 try to enter so they can get a easy trophy!)

  3. I'll try to take part, I'm such a huge fan of your job. I don't know if I have to run for beginners or master category. I've never gone to a golden demon or things like this (I only participated to 3 or 4 local GW contest some yeards ago and Die Vinci contest this year) so it's very difficult for me to know what is my level.

For sure I'm not a pro painter like your MV crew is :)

Wainting for your answer I'll eat millions of Bananas to be ultra powerfullllllll

  6. Good day to all apes! ;)

Firstly, sorry for my bad english in text below (and maybe some questions because of that);)

I have some questions about contest:

"Display - You can only enter with a set of Figures, a display, at least 3 pieces. Maximum 5."

It means that I must paint 3-5 figures on separated bases, or on one base?

If it must be one base - what's different between DISPLAY and DIORAMA categories?

"Pieces in a display can be mixed" - it's mean that I can enter with (for example) 1 Warhammer40K miniature and 2 Warhammer Fantasy miniatures? Or something else?

    Thank's for answers ;)

  7. @Anonymous
"Display": Yes, It means that you must paint 3-5 figures on separated bases.

"Pieces in a display can be mixed": You can enter with (for example) 1 Warhammer40K miniature and 2 Warhammer Fantasy miniatures? Or something else from whatever manufacturer you like or prefer!

    Hope that helps!
Never stop asking if there are questions!

  8. This banana news is making me mad :p

Some things to clarify. The diorama category(single piece); could I submit a vignette with 2-3 figures? Is that alright?

  9. Hello to everyone!

Roman aka jar - thank's for answers (previously, i asked like anonymous ;) )

    Two more questions:
    1. Is there some rules for bases? i mean hight, diameter etc.
    2. If i want to enter in contest with miniatures like, for example, GW "Imperial Guard Cadian Heavy Weapon Squad" - where two minis on one base (or something other manufacturer, but "in original" - more than one mini on base) - this is counts like 1 mini in "display" category, or 1 mini in "diorama" category?

    Thanks for answers ;)

  13. Hello,

One question concerning the single photos for the display category.

    You said:
" We ask you for single photos, no collages or weird cutted puzzles, just straight photos of your figures. "

Can I change the background of the photo using photoshop or not? no collage but only changing the background.

    Cheers.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Quick questions here also..

Do all the models have to be on their own sockets?

Or can they be on normal 20/25/40 whatever bases done up?

Just looking at the examples they seem to be all on sockets.

Also do they have to be separated? Or for the display groups, could you do 3-5 on a single scene? Like a mini unit for example?

    Thanks

"Can I change the background of the photo using photoshop or not? no collage but only changing the background."

    Yes you can.

    @Mr Lee
"Do all the models have to be on their own sockets?"

Figures can be on sockets and gaming bases if you prefer.

"Also do they have to be separated? Or for the display groups, could you do 3-5 on a single scene? Like a mini unit for example?"

They should stand seperated. About the option where to enter units I will have a talk with Raffa and a decision in some days --- followed by an update!

    Thanks for your questions!

  16. Hi there :)

I´m making a diorama consisting of quite a few of my already-painted-minis + some new ones. Am I allowed to enter that in your Diorama Category even though not all of the minis are new to the world?

    Cheers
    Johan

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi Johan,

the Diorama is new, isn't it?

Yes. You are allowed, but please keep in mind that you are not only using old figures and building up a base to put them together as a diorama. Bring in something new and cool pls :)

  18. Wooooah! I'm starting to paint, I can't resist :D :D

  19. Hello.. Looks like a great competition.

I do have one question. For the Display Category. Say i want to show 5 figures. Do all 5 have to be brand new to the world? Or could just 1 be new to the world with the rest being work that has been posted somewhere in the past? Or some other number????

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi Michael,

no. Only 1 Figure has to be a new piece in your display. The rest can be old projects already known in the internet.

  21. Hello guys,

I'm watching your blog for a long time. You are great and you always share usefull information. Thank for all these.
And now you come with this awesome contest. I can't resist. So I would like to make two entries. But I'm not sure about one of them. Not long ago I finished my first diorama. And I presented it on some forums. But I plan to bring few improvements on it and to mount it on a base. Would it be considered new after these improvements or it be considered not new and disqualified?

    Best wishes!
    Bogdan

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Bogdan
If the improvement and base change makes a big difference then yes, you can enter it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hi to the guys over at MV, just a quick question, you say for the historical category that vehicles can be entered but in the "display" explanation section you say no vehicles... can you enter vehicles in the Historical category ? can you in the Fantasy too ? cheers :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. @James
Thanks for your question. Yes there was a mistake in the discrbition of the categories. No Vehicles in the display categories. - no dioramas, vehicles, duels.

They all go to Diorama ... or Banana!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi there !

I would like to know if for the Fantasy standard, I must present five diffrente miniature, or i can present five miniature of the same Squad?

I love your work, and it would be truly exceptional
for me to be able to participate your BANANALICIOUS CONTEST :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'd say: Minimum you need 3 figures, maximum 5. You can enter 5 figures of a squad but they will be judged as single figures, not as squad.
