Wednesday...?... Thursday...?... Friday... ?...
Due to some rather interesting interim Introduction to "The Life, Time And Wonders Of Office Work" which has left me without any time whatsoever I have once again lost any sense of time... :D... But fear not, this Weeks HD Video is a kinda special one... The Infamous "The Witch Of Praag - The Power That Lies Within" Diorama from the 2006 Daemons in the United Kindgom, build and painted by Ben Komets and my pity self...:)... Hope you still remember it...
I really got to say that this Project has still preserved it´s Beauty and Fascination for me and it therefore is one of my All Time Favorites... It was one of the First slightly more Serious attempts in a Time when Non Metallic Metal and Snow Effects were pretty new to Miniature Painting and I have a lot of Great Memories linked to it due to the fact that it was the First collaboration with my dear Friend and Mentor Ben Komets (only the Start of a Beautiful and Bright Nerd Career, hahahah...:D...)...
The Idea obviously came from the Opening Sequence of the "Night Watch - Nocnoj Dozor" Film and it was translated into the World of Miniatures and Warhammer... I was always very interested and intrigued by the Slavic Baba Jaga Imagery, because it deals with very archaic fears that are kinda universal (the unexpected Powers and Creepy Spherical Aura that surrounds Old People sometimes is more then special...)... Besides that, the Topic of the Unit that forms a Greater Whole is an Idea that has proven to be useful to think about once again recently, so a lot of good foundation was lied with this Piece (The Sword, The Shield, The Leader and The Wizard)... Besides that, it is simple enough to be understood by a large range of People from diverse background, which I always think is very important to work out... That´s what it takes to Activate the Kopfkino... Relax and Enjoy your Own Mind...^-^...
The Kit Bashing was a lot of fun (Anyone remembers the "A Psycher With Boobs Makes a Good Witch" Thing I wrote about it before...^_^...?...) and the little "Chaos Cake" traveled a fair Deal all around the World bringing Joy into the Lifes of it´s Audience (sometimes even the xRay powered Air Port Staff...)... Thank you for all those Years, Little Chaos Cake! I really Love ya! :D

Awesome work. I also suspected this was influenced by Night Watch. You've done a beautiful job on these models and the entire scene.
ReplyDeletehmmm reminds me of a story that I heard about this beautiful piece of art:
