WIP - Automatons' Joker

posted by Oli, HonourGuard, silver leaf

I want to show you my actual project for the Duzi 2010. This miniature is from Automaton, one of my biggest idols :)  and has the size of 32mm .I tried to give that guy a really dark character. Now I have much to do, with finishing the base. Because it's very big for my usual bases.

So far from me, keep the brushes wet and maybe we see us at the Duzi in 1 month :)
best regards,
Oli

  2. Nice one!

To me it's a little overlighted, without a real focus, like the face should be one. Especially because it is real great, this fierce look fits perfectly to the sculpting.

You should draw more attention to the hands as well, because they are focus points as well.

  3. Fantastic made!! At this miniature you are in the antagonism, that on one hand you have normally the funny, colorful and boldfaced joker and on the other hand this freezing and incalculable psycho with the knife. I think, you have to bring your observer with the first impression to this funny joker and with the second view the observer is discovering this abnormal psycho. If you just bring the focus only to the face, which is looking very scary, or the clothes- I would miss one of them. I also think the leather look of shoes and gloves are looking real with the color gradation.

    Regards @Daddy Cool

  5. Thanks for the answers :)

@The Maxican, yes you are right with the over light, but a bit of that, comes from my photo. The complete face looks very white on the photo.. hm.. :/ What is with the hands? I wanted to give it a rough, wasted look.

@Daddy Cool, I am very happy you made many minds of his character. That's definitely what I wanted to reach :) I will be happy, when I have finished the base, and tell you the complete story/scene, that I have in my head, about this guy :)
