Huhu! It's me again - don't want you to get bored in here :)
Robert, i know some of you don't remember him, but he did sent me photos of his ship project today to ask me for feedback. I will do so tonight my friend. Robert didn't want to post the photos as according to him nothing really happened and the photos are bad, but i told him i will find the right words to explain why i surely will post it for him... it's not about the photos, it's not about the progress, it's simply about its beauty that should be shared to those who can't wait to see it finished and to tell the world that he is still working on it, the chimp has not been eaten by stealthy jungle predators - it is always great to see some progress Mr. R. and again i have to say i will adore it when it is finished - beware this might take about 1~40 years from now on, haha... btw i like the book you are riding, did read mine last week :)
I just can name you a freak Mr. R. - to inform you - he did build up these lamps from nothing on his own... just like the ship and mostly everything you can see so far... that is why it takes so long, in every inch there is pure austrian Roberto love... outstanding!
Hope you are glad that i have informed you dear readers! I don't care if the Chimp is angry now... Kong will tell Chimp some good banana stories from the times when the oceans swallowed Atlantis and everything will be fine again... :)
Best Regards
Roman
This is absolutely awesome. Fantasy and pirates both in one work will just make this to a masterpiece for me. I´m sure the paintjob will do the same.
ReplyDeleteSO SICK!
ReplyDeleteDoes that guy have a homepage or a blog? I would love to know how he built all that stuff from scratch.
ReplyDeleteWell done Rob, this is really sick!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see some glimpses of the progression, looking better and better with every shot we get of it!
ReplyDeleteKeep it up, this will without doubt become a great masterpiece!
Thanks Kong for showing!
ReplyDeleteAnd Robert, don't go too hard at Kong, he did us all a great favor. Your work definitely has to be shown from time to time :o)
The lamps are scratchbuilt too? WOW!
Thanks again for showing. I love that piece!!!

This is turning into a piece of beatuy. As I am a smart guy I will ask before anyone else does...as soon as your finished...how would you like to give me that nice diorama as a present ?
ReplyDeleteSharpe's Trafalgar:
ReplyDeleteSeeing the Book lying beside Roberts work, allow me to play a little jungle drum for the series as it is not too well known outside the United Kingdom:
Some years ago i stumbled over the character "Richard Sharpe" in the internet an bought the tv series with Sean Bean as Sharpe right away.
I can highly recommend this fantastic series to every one who is a bit into the Napoleonic Era, 19th century warfare or simply in the actor Sean Bean.
There are also Audio Books available now.
Have fun reading, watching or listening!

@Holla
ReplyDeleteI love those books too... i am totally in them these days, but i have to say that i adore every book by Bernard Cornwell - i got a real big Cornwell collection now, which grew over the last years... when i try to read something else i always miss the Cornwell Style of keeping me close to the charcters and the stories... this guy is really amazing and the Richard Sharpe is simply great!!
Progress-title for the moment: "shitty lanterns applied to the ship" - lack of progress, I know. ;-)
ReplyDeleteKong posted the pictures (I just wanted your critical oppinion my friend!) and now you all can see, that the project is not dead, but growing slowly .... because of time, temperature, books, bananas, ....
Thank you all for the early round of applause, dear readers! :-)
Please don't be shy - tell me also what you dislike, I could have done better, could do better, mistakes, ideas - something critical ... too many bananas and chimps become confused.
@Anonymous:
This jungle is also the home of me, Robert, muhani, ... the invisible chimp. ;-)
You find previous progres-pictures by using the searchbox in the right column on the site. Just type in "maulg". There is a lack of explanation in the posts, but I'm planning to add an article about it, when I'm done.
The basic shape of the ship is made of a pizza box.
@mati:
... yes, you're a smart guy. :)
@Holla:
Bernard Cornwell - I have his books for breakfast, meal and dinner and in between - exciting stories with historical background, fantastic to read, all of them. 8-)
@Roman
... nothing to add.
@Robert
ReplyDeleteWow... i guess it must have taken you hours to write so much... just kidding my dear friend - love ya!
Oooops. WOW!!! Thanks for posting Roman, well done,lol.
ReplyDelete@Robert: We shall tell you what we dislike?? Man your`re kidding,lol. Robert you are the King. The King of patience and madness and I love this wonderful piece of art. Can`t believe that someone is mad enough for doing something like that but you prove that you are ;-)
The invisible chimp :D Rather you're the incredible chimp, I suppose!
ReplyDeleteThe glass at the lanterns is amazing just as the lanterns are at all. Just could'nt tell what to improve, even after looking at them for quiet a while now.
Sometimes I'm a little sad not seeing real miniatures from you any more. They've always been so inspiring and impressive...
