Workshop Review - Cologne 1

Woo Hah!

Another beginner workshop is over - Number one in Cologne and i am regaining powers after a great weekend - i guess some others too :)

I have to say thanks to everyone involved in this Workshop and for sure to everyone who has been brave enough to take part - you know it is all about bravery, experience rises from the bravery of your heart - for sure when working with the evil thing called colours ;)

My special thanks go out to the one and only Daniela for giving me a place to sleep and food and a really great time, words can't describe how thankful i am. Big thanks to the Brave New World store in Cologne, where this event took place, additional to Susi and Mike for getting this rolling on. My deepest thanks to all the helping hands around the workshop, who helped where ever they could - Ultimate thanks to my man Raffa (Picster) for being the best assistance help i could imagine - you rule my little chapuchin, even if you don't believe me :)

It was great to meet a lot of new faces, seeing new faces and finally found some faces to some nicknames i did knew before from the internet. Before i start to tell a little bit from the painting class itself i have to say something which seems to burst my chest - a pain in the heart i feel not comfortable with: Sorry to the 3 Guys i did not find the time to stay a while in the end, while time was slipping through my hands on sunday afternoon... i still feel really bad about this fact and try to find my sleep again.

One of those 3 guys was Steff who allowed me to use his photos he has made during the workshop of the painting class, thank you a lot for this, i wasn't really able to make some own like always.

We had a full program starting on Firday night until Sunday in the late afternoon and sleep was really a short gift during these 3 days. Our "Demo-nettes" have been again great practicing models and i want to show you some of the pictures which have been made during the class. Starting with a view into the rooms of the Brave New World, which really is a store where you can lost your hobby heart in every corner - a real treasure island, if you got the time and you come from around the area check it out ... ahhh... pictures - the place where we did sweat and freeze together:

The little Chapuchin concentrating and a lot more concentrated faces during working:

For me it was a great experience to see everyone helping out eachother when Raffa or me did not have the moment. Thank you for everyone for their open hearts during this class and all the harmony we had - leave no wo/man behind, i could hug you all for this. I am always sorry when the time runs out on Sunday but i am really greatful of your nice words to the class you brought into the Forums... thank you a lot my Happy Painting comrads.

We  did start with building up the bases for our models we have prepared for painting before. Here are some examples of cool basings the participants did on Friday - and always remember: Don't think too much, there is always a reason behind everything that happens:

After a corius priming session in the center of the city - you all know what i mean ;) -our models have been ready for some colours. After we had a little chat on Friday and Saturday about colour theory, light on miniatures and the emotional use of these results on miniatures the demonettes looked like this - only one examples:

It was a lot of concentrating working going on, paused by explanation sessions and for sure sometimes getting some food or fresh air. Some more impressions on the painting class:

After Sunday ran out fast as hell we wasn't really able to catch all the models on a photo - i am not lying when i say time is the biggest gift we have in our lifes, so remember to use it for the right things. I hope no one is mad at me about this fact, but we did catch some on camera - check them out - really great stuff:

For sure we did achieve to make a group shot of us all, always know that not the miniature count in the end, it is the people carrying Happy Painting in their hearts - your hearts and bravery bring out the little mini canvas with colour on it - Group Colougne 1, thank you very much, it was my pleasure to spent a great weekend with you all:

Also big thanks in the end to my man Thomas (DarkKnight) for organising a dinner at night with those who did not have to travel far and still could stand on their feet. It was my pleasure sharing all you can eat with you :)

At the moment i have my incoming mails and private messages way beyond control, a lot of mails incoming and i am not able to answer them at the moment, i'll try my best without spending the whole day in front of the monitor - please be patient...

So far from me - Keep on happy painting!
Regards
Roman

Here goes the german translation:

Huh Hah!

Meinen tiefsten Dank an alle helfenden Hände um den Workshop herum - entscheidender Dank geht an meinen Schatz den Raffa (Picster) für die beste Unterstützungshilfe die ich mir wünschen konnte (mal wieder) - you rock the jungle my man, even if you don't believe me (ah, schon wieder englisch^^).

Bilder der Gruppe A:

Danke für das tolle WE - Keep on happy painting!
Grüße
Roman

  2. Ah sorry, yeah... we must have looked like a bunch of illegal sprayers to some of the citizens and have been asked several times what we were actual up to - we did explain this and for sure did get several different answers, nice ones and ridicolous ones - that is what i meant...

  5. On the first Picture you can see how a strange guy with a hoody tells one of his students the evil formula to survive the workshop. The price therefore is to change his hair against a black hat.OMG its......Picster ROFL!!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun out there. Looking forward to the workshop in Hamburg to see you two freaks again.
