Aloa,
a quick paintjob, well planned for the goal to be used on the gaming table someday, somewhere has been finished today. It is build from GW's Catachan Command Sprue and has been a lot of fun painting it, even if there are some areas which could have needed more attention. I took my focus on the skin and face while painting and i am happy how he turned out in the overall view... also the base has been build very quick at the Painter's meeting on the Edersee to show how i start with colours to some other painters - it is not the cleanest base, but ... no but - it is just the way it is, haha...
You can find him also on CMON:
So far, read you soon ... and keep on happy painting!

Roman
As with your other Catachan mini, I like this one a lot! The camo looks great and the skin is just right. The eyes looks a bit weird though...
ReplyDeleteTwo quic questions: Have you painted the skin the same way you did in the dwarf tutorial? And how do you get such a nice camo???
Great work, keep'em coming!

Hi JP...
ReplyDeletethanks for your comment on this one. Yeah, his look is strange like i did make in my pants or something, haha.
"Have you painted the skin the same way you did in the dwarf tutorial? "
Nope, i went on this with a basecoat of Dwarf Flesh from GW, painted wet in wet some of the first shadows with Tanned Flesh, followed by a mix of Tanned Flesh + Tip of Teracotta, all mixed on the miniature, then after drying i intensed the shadows a bit more with Andreas 2nd Shadow from the Skintone Set + Teracotta, followed by working out the Lights, also with Andreas Set, 2nd Light, followed by 1st... hope that helps...
"And how do you get such a nice camo???"
Uhm... i put a basecoat of Catachan Green, followed by wet in wet thin lines of a brighter green (GW's Foundation Gretchin Green) and some darker lines using Catachan Green and a Tip of Black. After drying i put shadows and lights on the trousers with thin glazes... sounds weird i know, especially the thing about wet in wet, for the future i am planning to do a video about to describe this better...
Thanks for your intrest in my work!
Keep on happy painting!
