Aloa,

there goes another step by step Tutorial - this time Daemonette 2.0 i had done back in the middle of 2008.

Introduction

I could not resist the temptations of the new Daemonettes, again.

This lady has got 4 arms again, but here 2 are ending in some kind of bone blades ... "Sausage-hairs" have been sculpted with green stuff in order to transfer a little of the flair of the old models to the new plastic models too.

Base layer / first gradations

Previous work on the skin:

Base layer: Vallejo Ivory / Elf Flesh / Catachan Green ca (50/30/20)
shaded with several glazes including less Ivory ... Ultramarine Blue and Chaos Black added to the feet out  to glaze basic shadows, approximately (20/80) ... the red nuance on the tail comes from a dip of Warlock Purple in the skin mix.

Previous work on the skin:
Same basic layer - shaded with a glaze of umber pigments from the company guardi / Graveyard Earth / Bestial Brown ...

Shading using glazes / first light

It went a little further ... and I must say that I feel a bit lost control of the colors  ... I like it still, but the claws move in the direction what I could expect 1st as NMM and 2 do i not know if it somehow fits ... I think I'll romp a little with me as strange experiments continue.

After i am now through with all the dark areas, placed my shadows and also where the color distribution is sitting, it is now in the direction of details ...

What has happened ...

Jaw-Armor:
repeatedly shaded with Bestial Brown, followed by Bestial Brown and Hawk Tourquise, followed by Schorched Brown, followed by Scorched Brown and Chaos Black ... Edge accents with white / tanned flesh drops set ...

Skin:
more into the dark shaded with Chaos Black / drops of Ultramarine Blue ...
Lights began to get brighter with Ivory / droplets Elf Flesh

Hair:
Base layer from Ivory / Tentacle Pink ...
Shaded with Tentacle Pink / Tanned Flesh ...
Next added more and more towards blue / black

Cloth:
Basecoat Graveyard Earth ...

At the front dreads, I have an idea that came to me when I recently had been in the GW-store. I had looked at the cover artwork of the Demon Codex ... I want to take this into pure black to go out to the hairline, and pass through fine then the tribals in the face ... I have no idea if that is what i am searching for while finding the concept of the miniature while painting, but one thing i know for sure: My humble Sculpting skill cover up, haha.

Reinforcements on targeted Shadows / Highlight expansion / start detailed details

I have progressed a little, it now goes into more detail and in the direction of Cleanness ... the sites are still under construction ... the main "head tribal thingy" is done and my dirty Scultping is hidden ... uh ... hopefully you won't see it not as bad as i see it ... The eyes were a test, it will be done again ... i though about leaving them black - but that's only black banana ... Next steps are likely diffisiele micro work on the entire edges, bony outgrowths yet complete (claws) ... places still to clean up and find the midtones for cleaner transitions, the metal parts are not complete yet - so I sit probably still there for a while ... chatterbox, chatterbox - here the images of the current WIP status:

What I did ...
Targeted delicate lights - edges have been intensed with pure white...

Claws / Armor:
The transitions from dark to white have been more cleaned up  by an intermediate stage of Elf Flesh and Bestial Brown (approx 60/40)  by thin glazes ...

Blacklining was performed on the entire mini ...

The bony areas were pulled over Schorched Brown to black toward the end ...

The "hair" was toward the front moved into the pure black, thin, black lines on the "hair" leads to this dark place out while they continue in the face (I probably thought about demonic ... What the hell i know, haha). ..

The robe was shaded with Graveyard Earth with the addition of Hawk Tourquise - Graveyard Earth again served to illuminate, followed by Graveyard Earth mixed to light in the direction of Ivory ...

The blades were decorated with blood.

Outlining / drafting details and final work

In some places have been glazed again very thin to get areas more cleaner.

Gemstones: The 3 gems have been painted on a black basecoat, on the addition of Vile Green (GW) to lighten the way to Bad Moon Yellow moved downwards. Above, were the light hits the gems a reflex point in pure white was set.

The crescents were painted with a basecoat of Mithril Silver / droplets Ultramarines Blue and adding Catachan Green, use of Graveyard Earth to Chaos Black shaded down - were subsequently with pure Mithril Silver again tightened the edges and then a little in size with the previous dark Glaze attenuated to the edge ...

The nails were thin fine lines of Elf Flesh and were then shaded with several glazes of Schorched Brown Elf Flesh ...

The eyes were very subtly into blue / black paint and received only a very small reflective dot and a line of reflection at the bottom of the eye ...

The base received a small "slime".

The finished Model:

Please see this step by step as a view on my way i did paint this miniature. I am not sure if i did forget something, i guess i did. If any questions may occour, please drop a line.

Keep on happy painting!
Regards
Roman
